The nurses' team is up against the lawyers' team in an annual charity track and field race. The nurses' team is in the lead, but loses their chances at winning when a lawyer faints and they rush to her aid. Their selflessness catches the young lawyer Si Yan's attention and respect. 医院护士队和律师队参加常年慈善筹款田径比赛，护士队原本有机会胜出，但若君、耀宗等人因为看到其中一位律师队队员晕倒，急忙施救，错失夺标良机。新进律师思彦看到若君等人不计输赢，只求救人，非常感动。

Yaozong and Xinni find bruises on their son Bu Cuo's back and suspect that his childcare teacher Qunfang might be behind it. Yaozong and Xinni report this incident and Qunfang resigns in anger. The couple realize that they have wrongly accused Qunfang and decide to apologize to her in her house, only to find her unconscious. 耀宗和馨霓发现儿子不错背上有瘀青，怀疑他在幼儿园被老师群芳欺负，向负责人反映。群芳被误会，愤而辞职。后耀宗和馨霓知道错怪了群芳，登门道歉，却意外发现群芳倒卧在房间地板上！

Si Yan's father faints at home and she calls Longhua for help. Longhua and Jiaren were playing basketball and he misses her call. Si Yan calls Jiaren instead and he gives her instructions over the phone on how to help her father. Longhua is upset at missing her call and worries that Jiaren might be interested in Si Yan. Jiaren assures him that Si Yan is not his cup of tea. 思彦的父亲在家里晕倒，她打电话向龙华求救。龙华和家任正在打球，没有接听电话。思彦又打电话给家任，家任通过电话教她如何急救，挽回父亲一命。

Si Yan gets attacked and stabbed, and Longhua is worried for her. Si Yan regains consciousness and explains that this is her second time escaping death. Her first time was when she was young, where she was hospitalized for leukaemia. Longhua hears these with a pained heart. 思彦被刺伤，龙华担心不已，幸好她终于醒来。思彦说这是她第二次跟死神交手，道出自己小时候因为血癌而长期治疗的事，那段痛苦的岁月至今仍令她难以忘记，龙华听了很心疼。

Ruojun discovers a lump on her chest and decides to get it checked. An unsuspecting Yiqiang proposes to Ruojun. Ruojun's test results diagnoses her with Stage 2 of breast cancer. Her doctor advises her to seek treatment early to prevent the cancer cells from spreading. 若君发现自己的胸部有硬块，决定去做详细检查，担心着自己的检查结果，不知情的毅强则高兴地择日要和若君结婚。检验报告出来，果然是晴天霹雳的消息，若君患上第二期乳癌，有扩散的迹象，医生要她尽早治疗。

After her accident, Siyan overcomes her fear of hospitals and resolves to be a nurse. On the day of the interview for her nursing course, Siyan shows up late and is denied entry by the strict interviewer. Siyan's caring nature ultimately catches the attention of her interviewer and she successfully enrols into the nursing course. 思彦因意外而克服了对医院的恐惧，还立志要成为一名护士。她报读护理课程，不料面试当天却迟到，原本被严厉的面试官包主任拒于门外。后包主任发现思彦是个有爱心的人，终于录取她。

Yiqiang returns from an overseas trip on the day before his engagement and gives her a custom-made jewellery. This touches Ruojun and her initial intention of telling him about her illness is foiled. Yaozong discovers that Ruojun has not made plans to seeking treatment and questions her. Ruojun's strong front finally breaks and she reveals that she has not come to terms with her illness. She refuses to go for the operation nor chemotherapy because she is fully aware of the process and hardship. Xinni's father Xinguo pays her a visit at the hospital. Feeling guilty for neglecting her father who is staying alone, she asks him to move in with her. Xinguo says yes immediately. Alas, Yaozong strongly disagrees with this arrangement because he knows that Xinguo harbours a dark secret. 馨霓的父亲关新国突然到医院来找她，馨霓因自己甚少回去探望独居的父亲而感内疚，要新国搬来一起住，新国正中下怀，马上答应。没想到耀宗却强烈反对，原来耀宗发现了新国不可告人的秘密。

A lethargic Ruo Jun makes her way home after chemotherapy. Ah Mu happens to drive pass and offers her a lift home. Ruo Jun hides her condition from him, but faints just before reaching home. Ah Mu sends her to the hospital. Ruo En rushes back, mistakes Ah Mu for a taxi driver, and lets slip that Ruo Jun has cancer, leaving Ah Mu shocked. 若君化疗后身体虚弱地独自回家，阿木正好开车经过，见状送她一程。若君隐瞒自己患癌之事，不料回到住家楼下，她却突然晕倒，阿木将她送回医院。若恩赶来，误会阿木是德士司机，无意中透露若君患癌的事，阿木感震惊。

Yaozong worries when he is unable to contact Ruo Jun, and decides to visit her at home. He bumps into Yi Qiang, who tells Yaozong that Ruo Jun is hospitalized. Yaozong rushes off, and bumps into Ruo En downstairs. Ruo En tells him that Yi Qiang has abandoned Ruo Jun and is going overseas. Both Yaozong and Ruo En decide to teach Yi Qiang a lesson, but he flees. 耀宗因为联络不上若君而感担心，到她家里来探望，遇到正要出国的毅强。毅强透露若君在医院，耀宗匆匆离开，却在楼下遇到若恩，从她口中得知毅强抛弃若君要出国。

Si Yan gives her lunch date with Longhua a miss when Jiaren requests her help to fulfil a young cancer patient, Roy's wish to have a birthday celebration. Longhua witnesses Si Yan leaving with Jia Ren and misunderstands Jia Ren for betraying him. The two friends fall out because of this. 思彦原本答应龙华和他一起吃午餐，家任却临时要求她帮忙为癌症小病患Roy庆祝生日，以完成他的心愿，思彦只好推掉与龙华的饭局。龙华目睹两人一起离开，误会家任背叛他，两人决裂。

Ah Mu sets out on a happiness project and brings Ruo Jun out to experience a day of being a street artist. Ruo Jun has fun drawing initially, but some of the customers' negative feedback on her drawing leaves her feeling that she has brought unhappiness to people instead. Ah Mu notices that Ruo Jun always places others' needs before her own. 阿木展开快乐行动，带若君到街头当一天的街头画家。若君虽然画得开心，但因有些人对她的画不满意，令她感觉自己没有给他人带来快乐，反而让人不开心，这并不是她想要的。阿木见若君总是为别人着想，有所领悟。

Jia Ren and Longhua fall out due to a misunderstanding, and Yaozong decides to mediate the situation. Jia Ren explains the reason for asking Si Yan out, which was to help celebrate a patient's birthday. Jia Ren and Longhua decide to test Si Yan to see which of them she prefers. Ken persuades Longhua to join him in his investment company, stating that he is able to own a condominium and a car in just three years with this job. Looking at how his grandmother is struggling to earn a living, Longhua starts to think about his future. He ultimately decides to quit his nursing job. Wenhui is getting ready for the liver transplant operation. Youde backs out unexpectedly and she becomes disheartened. Siyan and Jiaren counsel her, and she decides to fulfil her wish to be photographed in a wedding gown. The unconscious Bucuo is sent to the hospital and is pronounced brain dead. Traumatised, Xinni blames Yaozong for indirectly causing his death. Ruojun tries to mediate between Xinni and Yaozong. She persuades Xinni to let go of her anger. Disappointed in him, Xinni asks Yaozong for a divorce. 不错意外去世，令馨霓、耀宗悲痛不已。馨霓责怪耀宗间接害死儿子，回想起耀宗对不错的严苛，非常心疼，对耀宗怨恨更深。若君劝解馨霓，表示未来的日子还很长，夫妻不能一直这样冷战下去。馨霓听后，决定和耀宗离婚。

Yaozong is stunned at Xinni's request for a divorce and tries to talk her out of it. Ruo Jun berates Xinni for being selfish and not considering Yaozong's feelings. Xinni presses ahead with the divorce, and believes that not seeing Yaozong will prevent her from thinking of their son.
