In WHAT ON EARTH Season 2, Zachary, Raffles, Leonardo, and Neela continue their adventures on Earth, facing everyday life challenges.
To Zachary's joy, the three aliens return. But in their months away, things have changed - Raffles' apartment has been re-let and a new teacher hired to replace him. They need a whole new place to live and a new job – fast! On top of that, very sadly, their neighbour, Mrs Chandrasekhar has passed away. But she has left them a mysterious package.

Mrs Chandrasekhar's mysterious package is a video informing them she actually owned their building’s disused café – and that she's left it to them in her will! It looks as if the café is the answer to their problems – a place to live, plus jobs. Meanwhile, Leonardo and Neela admit they've returned to Earth because Uncle Maxi banished them here – indefinitely!

On returning to school, Leonardo decides to run against queen bee Weiling for Class Captain – with Zachary as his campaign manager. Weiling has a big head-start, so Zachary gets to work. Meanwhile Raffles and Neela take on setting up the café – by trying to operate the cantankerous coffee machine.

To Leonardo and Weiling’s shock, the school election is won by a surprise candidate who didn’t even run – Zachary! The class has realised all the good ideas in Leonardo’s campaign were Zachary’s! Meanwhile Raffles and Neela order the café’s first furniture – some very traditional, rather chintzy tables and chairs. Zachary and Leonardo are not impressed.

After some serious horse-trading, they pull the decor together - an eclectic mix of kids’ hangout and adult cafe. And Zachary hits on a name – Café Zetab Bean. Meanwhile, Neela, as Supreme Commander of Wait Staff, begins staff training.

When Zachary hears Raffles and Neela complaining about flagging sales, he and Leonardo come up with a plan to get Guy Gardens to make a guest appearance at the café. The boys manage to get him to meet at the café but he's sorely unimpressed.
