Food, a national passion. Eating, a national past time. And come December, cooking will be a national obsession. Helmed by award-winning host Quan Yifeng and celebrity chef Sam Leong, this new reality series follows Channel 8’s search for a Star Chef. Feel the heat not just in the kitchen when Yifeng and Sam, both known for not mincing their words, face the culinary greenhorns. Twelve chef hopefuls will come under the wing of mentor Sam Leong - Director of Kitchens for the Tung Lok Group of restaurants - who will coach them in the culinary arts. Besides this, Sam will also be the permanent judge on this programme. Each week, the apron-donning contestants will face different challenges from working on a limited budget, choosing of ingredients to finally presenting their creations to the judges. There will be six quarter-finals, four semi-finals and one revival round before the grand final. One contestant will be booted out in each quarter-final and semi-final round; thus, only two contestants will be left standing at the end of Episode 11. The following episode will be a revival round, where one of the four eliminated semi-finalists will get the chance to become one of the three chef-wannabes in the grand final. 这是新传媒2008年的制作

Helmed by award-winning host Quan Yifeng and celebrity chef Sam Leong, this new reality series follows Channel 8’s search for a Star Chef. Feel the heat not just in the kitchen when Yifeng and Sam, both known for not mincing their words, face the culinary greenhorns.
