John Klass, a radio deejay receives a phone call from a listener. The listener is a young man called Victor who shares his story about a woman he loves. Victor, an engineer meets Vanda, a school teacher at a Social Interaction Network function. On the night of their first official date, Victor and Vanda make plans to meet at the beach after their dinner. Vanda, on her way to the beach, gets hit on the head by a falling television set.

Vanda, after getting hit on the head by the television set, gets whisked away to the Ministry of Social Technology, a mysterious place run by the powerful Madam Secretary Jennie Tan. Jennie has commissioned the brilliant Dr Arthur Loh to spearhead Project X, a clandestine and ambitious project that will change the future of artificial intelligence forever.

Dr Arthur Loh debuts Ruby Richards - the reshaped and reconstructed Vanda, making her his perfect dream woman. Ruby Richards will be the prototype for the government’s ambitious and expensive plan to create fully-programmable spokesmen – in essence, humans equipped with artificial intelligence (AI). Ruby is put through the AI Trinity tests and emerges with jaw-dropping results.

Ruby's strange mannerisms begin to raise eyebrows at her workplace. To hone her social immersion skills, Ruby is made to share a flat with Amanda and Siti. Despite Ruby's quirky behaviour, the three girls slowly become friends. Meanwhile, Amanda faces frustrations trying to woo Vimila, the Bollywood star to Singapore.

News of Vimila coming to Singapore to star in Crazy Rich Indians sends Victor into a frenzy. Thinking Vimila is Vanda, Victor prepares to go meet Vimila. Siti plans a surprise, while Jennie puts pressure on Arthur and his team of doctors on how to ensure that Ruby does not see Vimila.

A day in the life of Jennie. Jennie decides to put her maniacally ambitious plan 'Evolution X' into place. She attends a SIN event where Amanda has made arrangements for Vimila to make an unexpected visit. Meanwhile, Ruby continues to glitch and Arthur is unable to fix Ruby in time for Jennie’s big presentation.

Dr Arthur Loh has fallen out of grace with Jennie and is relegated to cleaning the toilets of the Ministry of Social Technology. Meanwhile, Victor refuses to give up on meeting Vimila. He signs up for dance classes, determined to make the auditions of Crazy Rich Indians. At the auditions, Victor has a chance meeting with Ruby.

Flashback to 23 years ago, young Jennie is at the start of her first day of work at MST. At a foster home, young Vanda and Vimila meet a prospective adoptive mother who makes a decision that changes the course of their lives forever. Young Arthur tries to make Rekha's wishes come true to tragic consequences.

Filming for Crazy Rich Indians begins. Victor manages to get on the set as an extra, and gets paired up with Ruby. Meanwhile Arthur finally figures out the chip in Ruby's head and wrestles back control of Project X. Vimila stuns everyone on set when she makes a police report.

Victor thinks Vimila is Vanda and Vimila plays along. Meanwhile, Ruby and Siti break into MST and escape with incriminating evidence. Amanda confronts Jennie. Ruby and Siti play detective and kidnap Victor. Victor has a difficult time coming to terms that Ruby is actually Vanda. Meanwhile Arthur tries to control Ruby remotely.

The set of Crazy Rich Indians is in total chaos as Vimila goes missing. Vimila wakes up in a secret level in MST. Bud tries to disguise himself to infiltrate MST with ridiculous results. Meanwhile Arthur is determined to reboot Ruby. Victor finds a way to prevent Ruby from being remotely controlled by Arthur. However, the police arrive to arrest Victor and Ruby.

Victor is being interrogated by the police for multiple crimes. Ruby, controlled by Arthur, incriminates Victor further. Meanwhile, in the hostage room, Bud is unable to stop Dr A from wiping out Vimila's memory. Arthur sets up a makeshift lab and succeeds in bringing Ruby in. He reboots Ruby to horrific results.

Victor, Arthur and Tan Swee Geok find themselves in a State Facility with the mysterious Officer X. They agree to try to stop Ruby and the situation at MST from spiralling into a national disaster. Ruby has held Jennie hostage and is on the verge of killing Jennie. Officer X wants Arthur to shut Ruby down. Victor uses all his heart and mind to try to save Ruby. Will he succeed?
