It was the 1960s. Yuan Chen Xi from the Yuan Association, representing Singapore in a martial arts competition in Penang, wins the championship. His biological father Song Zhi Zhong meets with him, but Chen Xi spurns him.

Zhi Zhong passes away, and Chen Xi's twin brother Ah Zai is angry with him. Chen Xi's mother Qiu Di hints that Chen Xi should bring Ah Zai home. Ah Zai refuses, and challenges Chen Xi to a fight, agreeing to only go with them if he loses.

Members from the Yuan Association are repeatedly assaulted and ambushed. Zhen Fei is forced to tell his family about the heirloom 'Jade Dragon' hidden in the home.

Upon knowing that her brother Jian Feng was expelled, Ke Lu creates a commotion at the Yuan Association. Chen Xi pulls her away in time. Ke Lu knows that Chen Xi spoke up for her brother before, and apologises. The two get closer.

Chen Xi and Qiu Di get into an accident in Japan. Chen Xi dies, while Qiu Di falls into a coma. The Yuan family goes into shock. When Ah Zai hears of his brother's death, he travels to Singapore and quietly steals a last look at his brother.

Ah Zai hears that Jian Zhu dates can cure his mother, and drags Ke Lu along for a futile search in the woods. Zhen Fei also hears of it, heads to the woods with his disciples. Li Fang is jealous seeing Zhen Fei's concern

The doctor suggest sending Qiu Di to the states for treatment. Zhen Fei decides to sell the Jade Dragon, not only to raise the money, but also to tempt the villains into action. Tian He suspects his true motives

Xi Yang and Yue Ming discover that Ah Zai not only bears an uncanny resemblance to Chen Xi, but also is adept at martial arts. They suspect he is Zhen Fei's bastard son. They collude with Dong Chen and force Ah Zai to a blood test.=

Ah Zai steals Xian Po's dates and she threatens to send him to the police. Xi Yang helps to resolve the situation with a cheque. His only terms are for Ah Zai to leave, and keep the secret of his existence. Ah Zai gives the cheque to Xian Po, but the

Zhen Fei returns the dates to Xian Po, hoping that Ya Zai can be released. Xi Yang discovers that his cheque was made void by Li Fang. Indignant, she reminds them that she is the secretary for the association, and forbids them to spend unnecessarily.

Yue Ming escapes from Tian He. Although Li Fang witnesses it, she does not stop her for fear of exposing her identity. Yue Ming escapes to the pineapple factory, and bumps into Ke Lu. Ke Lu helps her hide from the villains, and drives her to safety.

Zhen Fei casts away his pride and seeks out Jian Feng. He invites him back to the Yuan clan, to replace Li Fang as well as become the head coach. On his birthday, Zhen Fei invites the Ou siblings for dinner.

Zhen Fei takes Ke Lu as a disciple. On the day of the ceremony, Yue Ming and Xi Yang bring witnesses to make trouble, accusing the Ou siblings of evil doings. Jian Feng is furious at the Yuan clan, and storms off after severing ties with them.

Ah Zai and Wan Yi elope, but their plans are foiled by Uncle Liang Cha at the train station. He steals their luggage and prevents them from leaving.

Tian He puts pressure on Jian Feng to get Ah Zai involved in their illicit dealings. Jian Feng thinks that Ah Zai will not be tempted by fame and fortune. He is also worried that Jia Bao may leave him if she knows that he is in cahoots with Tian He.

Ke Lu's outstanding talent is appreciated by Zhen Fei. He is asked to help with the disaster relief in Tang Shan but is reluctant. Ke Lu reminds him that it would be the perfect way to avoid Ah Zai's wedding while being considerate to Qiu Di. Zhen Fe

Ah Hei kidnaps Wan Yi to blackmail Ah Zai. He suspects the culprit is Jian Feng, but Jian Feng vehemently denies it. He realizes that Wan Yi is having a fever, and sends her to the inn. Wan Yi reveals that she thinks her kidnapper is indeed Jian Feng

Zhen Fei's involvement with the charity funds is sensationalized by the media, inciting a public outcry. He suspects this could be related to Ah Zai, and asks Ke Lu more about his character.

Ah Zai and Wan Yi hold their wedding. During the tea ceremony, Yue Ming dashes in to stop them, shocking everyone with the news of Xi Yang's paralysis. Yue Ming hits Ah Zai, and Ah Zai takes it without fighting back.

Not wanting Wan Yi to worry, Ah Zai discharges from the hospital prematurely. Back at the inn, Xian Po refuses entry and asks him to go back to the Yuans. Ke Lu and Wan Yi send Ah Zai to the Yuans but is blocked by Yue Ming.

Ke Lu steals Xian Po's Jian Zhu dates and passes it to Qiu Di. She meets Jian Feng along the way, and he steals the dates from her. Qiu Di tries to stop him but falls down the stairs. Ke Lu carries her back to the Yuan clan.

Ke Lu recalls seeing Jian Feng at the scene of crime, and suspects he caused Qiu Di's fall. Jian Feng vehemently denies it, and the two of them fight. Ke Lu is injured by Jian Feng. Zhen Fei tells Ke Lu not to jump to conclusions without evidence.

Ah Zai is sorry for causing trouble for the Yuans. Zhen Fei assures him that it is not his fault, and that he will take care of him. Ah Zai says he has always been independent, and does not need help.

Although Jian Feng wins the championship, he loses Jiabao, and is inconsolable. Ke Lu and the rest send her off, but she is unwell. They discover she is pregnant. Ke Lu wants to tell Jian Feng, but is stopped by Jiabao.
