Panicking, Tamizharasi apologizes and pleads with him not to harm the doll. Kannan calms her and asks why she reacted so strongly, prompting Tamizharasi to reveal her past in a flashback.

In a flashback, during the early days of the Japanese Occupation, Chinese merchants and shop owners are being arrested by Japanese soldiers.Tamizharasi pleads with the soldiers and even offers herself in exchange. Tragically, the soldiers make a cruel joke out of her pleas and kill her brother in front of her, leading to her heart-wrenching screams.

As Tamizharasi shares her painful past with Kannan, she explains that her hostility towards him stemmed from her family's deep hatred for the Japanese due to the traumatic loss.Moved by Tamizharasi's story, Kannan empathizes with her and encourages her to confront her true emotions rather than masking them with anger and frustration.

Kannan notices the absence of Tamizharasi's usual Vaasal Kolam, indicating her continued grief. He finds her clutching the clay doll and gently encourages her to carry on with life, emphasizing her role in the Tamil school and the love of those around her. Kannan hints at his feelings for her indirectly and leaves her some ration food before giving her space to decide whether to join them.
