80s Kids Ah Zhen, Guang Hui, An Ya, and De Ping grew up watching TV in a kampong together. A big production requires many calafares so Ah Zhen's father, who works as a stuntman at a broadcast station, brought the 4 kids to the station to try their luck. Xiaohu asks Zhen to give up her dream of being an actress but she refuses. Anya and Deping bring word that there is a fire at the restaurant in which Guanghui works. The three friends race to the scene but are prevented by the police from going close. They are anxious, yet have no choice but to leave. Deping gives Grandma a scare, when he thoughtlessly says something has happened to Guanghui. 成长后的阿真与好友参加演员训练班，她非常认真学习，谁知考试成绩揭晓，其他三人都被录取，阿真却落...

Deping cannot believe Anya was accepted instead of the prettier Ah Zhen. Guanghui points to the relationship Anya's father, Guodong, has with Xinghai, the head of Chinese drama unit. Guanghui offers to give his place up to Ah Zhen. She turns him down. Xiaohu asks the director for a substitute for Xiangrong when he notices she is unwell. At the director's insistence, however, Xiangrong attempts to execute the wire-suspension stunt herself. ...

Guang Hui gets into a conflict with a director. Ah Zhen and An Ya each prepare a gift to cheer him up. When Ah Zhen learns of An Ya's intention, she told An Ya to take her gift to give it to Guang Hui. De Ping sympathizes Ah Zhen. 光辉和导演起冲突，阿真和安雅为了让他振作起来，分别做了东西要送给他。阿真正的安雅的心意，最后把自己制作的情歌光碟给了安雅，要她送给光辉打气。德平为阿真感到不值。

De Ping tells Guang Hui both Ah Zhen and An Ya have feelings for him. He told Guang Hui to make a choice. Guang Hui laughed and brushed it off as an April fool's joke. 德平知道阿真不敢向光辉表白，自作主张将阿真和安雅都喜欢光辉的事告诉他，要他早点做出选择，免得伤害了她们。光辉听了却大笑起来，原来当天是愚人节，他以为德平和阿真故意捉弄他，阿真立刻配合演戏掩饰。

The Head of Chinese drama, Xing Hai, sees potential in Ah Zhen so he decides to let her attempt a role. However, Ah Zhen gets overly serious about her small roles and that annoyed the directors. 90年代，甘榜被政府征用，阿真等人不得不搬家。安雅和卷毛搬到有地住宅，光辉和阿真两家则搬进组屋，依然是邻居。高层兴海无意中看到阿真演哭戏的片段，觉得她很有潜质，决定让她当特约演员。但阿真即使饰演一个小角色也认真过头，随意加对白丰富角色，令导演们受不了。

Guang Hui secures the leading role in a youth drama. Meanwhile, An Ya's confidence is shaken because her roles are limited to portrayal of ugly women. She decides to advance her career abroad. 电视台开拍校园青春剧，光辉终于有机会当上男主角，正式开展星途。阿真当特约演员，却因为太认真，反而没有人敢用她。光辉多次和女主角雪冰合作，被认为是最登对的银幕情侣。一再演出丑角的安雅感自卑，决定出国发展。

Xiang Rong recommends Ah Zhen a job at the Broadcasting Station as Wardrobe Assistant. De Ping warns Guang Hui about Ah Zhen. He claims Ah Zhen is a naive girl who can't tell the difference between friendship and love. Ah Zhen makes up her mind and plans to confess to Guang Hui but De Ping sabotaged her plan. 湘蓉推荐阿真到服装部担任助理，阿真因不用离开电视台而高兴不已。德平警告光辉不能对阿真动歪脑筋，因为她是个傻妹，分不出友情和爱情。光辉怀疑德平爱上阿真，德平否认。阿真决定向光辉告白，却被德平破坏。

An Ya returns home after a successful plastic surgery. She signs a contract with the broadcasting station and hitches the lead role of a new drama. Ah Zhen feels dejected because she perceives An Ya as a better match for Guang Hui. 安雅回国，整个人犹如脱胎换骨，变得非常漂亮。她与电视台签约，成为新剧女主角，和光辉演一对情侣。阿真眼见安雅和光辉越来越登对，自己则更加配不上光辉，黯然神伤。

Ah Zhen becomes unemployed after being dismissed by the wardrobe department. In order to stay at the broadcasting station, she helps out at Juan Mao's canteen stall. De Ping starts to shine in the industry while Ah Zhen continues to wash dishes at the canteen. An Ya confesses to Guang Hui. 阿真被服装组辞退，再次失业，为了留在电视台，只好暂时在卷毛的小食摊里打杂洗碗。时光流逝，安雅和光辉成为新一代荧幕情侣，德平演奸角也渐渐出位，只有阿真依旧呆在电视台的食堂里洗碗。安雅向光辉告白，光辉终于接受她。

Guang Hui is unable to forgive his mother, Bi Xia, for abandoning him. Xiaohu teaches Bi Xia to gain sympathy through a pretence suicide act which nearly cost her her life. Guang Hui reveals his love for his mother when she was in a coma but turned aloof when she regained conscious. 光辉始终无法原谅从小抛弃他的母亲碧霞，小虎教碧霞用上吊自杀的苦肉计，不料却弄巧反拙，害得碧霞差点丧命。光辉见碧霞昏迷不醒，真情流露，可是等碧霞醒来之后，他却恢复冷淡的样子，仍旧不肯原谅母亲。

Ah Zhen accompanies Guang Hui and An Ya to the KTV to sing karaoke. She acts as a shield to prevent rumours of them dating from circulating. However, reporters got wind of their location. In a moment of selfishness, she allowed the reporters to snap pictures of both Guang Hui and An Ya without prior notice. The furious An Ya chided Ah Zhen for her incompetency. Ah Zhen retaliates. 光辉与安雅去唱卡拉OK，阿真当"烟幕弹"为他们掩护，却发现记者到来。她想起德平和碧霞的话，一时起私心，没有及时通报光辉...

The new broadcasting station headhunts crew and talents, including An Ya and De Ping but not Guang Hui. Ah Zhen fears this will affect their friendship. Luckily, An Ya decides to stay behind so she can spend more time with Guang Hui. De Ping decides to stay put too. Ah Zhen is relieved. 新电视台即将成立，许多台前幕后的工作人员都被对台挖角，安雅、德平也被挖，光辉却没有。阿真担心他们四个好友会各分东西，幸好安雅为了跟光辉有多一点时间相处，决定留下来，德平也决定不跳槽，阿真感开心。

After Bi Xia discovered An Ya underwent plastic surgery, she teased her and told her she is not fit to become her daughter-in-law. Bi Xia intentionally aggravates An Ya when she noticed Guang Hui coming from afar. In a fit of anger, An Ya told Bi Xia she is not fit to be Guang Hui's mother. Guang Hui is upset and disappointed with An Ya for being disrespectful towards his mother. An Ya suggests a breakup. 碧霞发现安雅曾经整容而讥笑她，说安雅不配当她的媳妇。碧霞见光辉从远处...

Mei Na teases An Ya for undergoing the knife. Reporters added salt to the wound, leaving An Ya defenceless. She ends up getting her role replaced by Mei Na. An Ya is certain she was being framed by Mei Na so she approaches her to thrash things out. An Ya decides to leave the entertainment business to study abroad. 美娜嘲笑安雅曾经整容，记者也追问安雅整容的事，令她无法招架。安雅被丑闻缠身，下一部戏也被换角，由美娜取代她的角色。安雅认定美娜陷害她，往找美娜算账。连串的打击令安雅心灰意冷，决定离开演艺圈，出国进修。

Mei Na maligns Ah Zhen and that resulted in her being sacked. When she thought all was lost, she bumped into Director Chui Lian who was frustrated because her AP was on MC. Ah Zhen offered to cover the duties of the AP. Chui Lian is impressed. 美娜诬赖阿真，导致阿真被辞退。阿真失意之际，遇到女导演秋莲因助导临时病假而缺人，她即刻毛遂自荐当临时助导。阿珍工作认真，令秋莲赞赏。兴海告知阿真戏剧组有空缺，让阿真顺利当上助导，开始人生重要的转捩点。

Liwei drugged Deping's drink. In a state of misjudgement, he mistook an actress as Ah Zhen and confessed his feelings for her. The actress took this opportunity to seduce De Ping, then later accused him of molest. Sensationalized reports by the media caused Deping his job. 立威陷害德平，在红酒内加入迷药。德平迷糊之下，误把一女特约当成阿真，向她表白。女特约故意引诱德平拥吻她，却突然大喊救命。德平非礼女特约的事闹得沸沸扬扬，媒体大肆报道，导致他被遭公司解约。

Guanghui, Mei Na and the working crew attend a post-filming party. The next morning, Guanghui found himself next to Mei Na in bed. Mei Na realises she is pregnant. To seek sympathy from Guanghui, she misled Guanghui to think she plans to abort. Guanghui is touched and decides to marry Mei Na. Ah Zhen is devastated. 光辉、美娜与工作人员一起出席收工宴，光辉心情郁闷，喝得酩酊大醉，醒来却发现他和美娜躺在酒店房间里。过后美娜发现怀孕，假装为了光辉的前途要去堕胎，光辉感动之下，决定和美娜结婚。美娜暗喜计划得逞，阿真则感心碎。

The broadcasting station relocates to a new location in year 2016. Ah Zhen is a Director whereas Li Wei, Guanghui and Mei Na are joint-investors of a fine dining restaurant. Guanghui channels his focus on the business and neglects filming. De Ping tries to woo investors to support his movie but fails. Anya auditions for a film but ends up arguing with an Executive Producer because she was not willing to play the supporting role. 2016年，电视台搬...

Just when Xiaohu and Xiangrong got closer, Ah Zhen's biological mom appears. Xiaohu refuses to forgive her for abandoning both of them. He maintains a distance from her. Guanghui turns to the loan sharks to help his business tide through difficult times. Ah Zhen learns of his debts and lends him money to help him out. 小虎和湘蓉的感情有所进展之际，阿真的生母心雨突然出现。小虎不肯原谅心雨当年抛弃他们父女，加上顾及湘蓉的感受，与心雨保持距离。光辉因为生意陷入困境，向大耳窿借钱周转，结果被追债。安雅得知后，拿钱给他应急。

Mei Na questions Anya's motive for her intimate relationship with Guanghui. She slaps Anya after failing to resist the provocation by Anya. This din caught on video went viral online. Speculations has it that Anya and Guanghui rekindled their love for each other so out of jealousy, Mei Na slapped Anya. Anya hides from the reporters. 美娜到电视台找安雅，质问她接近光辉的目的。安雅故意挑衅美娜，美娜气得打了她一巴掌，结果被人用手机录了下来。视频在网上流出，评论都指安雅和光辉旧情复燃，美娜吃醋才打她。记者纷纷来找安雅访问，安雅躲了起来。

Xin Yu faints while filming under the hot sun but insists a visit to the hospital is not necessary. Suspicious of her mother's intention, Ah Zhen went to the pharmacy to inquire about the medicine which Xin Yu is taking. Ah Zhen realizes that the medicine is for cancer patients. Xiang Rong guessed Xin Yu's days are numbered and the reason for her return is to see Ah Zhen and Xiaohu for the last time. 心雨在烈日下拍戏，突然不适昏倒，却坚持不肯去医院，引起阿真怀疑，用手机拍下她服用的药物，拿到

Guanghui bumped into loansharks at Ah Ma's house. Apparently, Liwei and Mei Na disappeared after taking a huge loan using the restaurant's name. Guanghui is threatened. If he refuses to pay their debts, the loansharks will be back for Ah Ma. 光辉回去阿嬤家，发现两名阿窿跑腿在家里。跑腿说找不到美娜和立威，也找不到光辉，就只好来找阿嬤。原来立威和美娜利用公司名义借了一大笔钱，然后消失无踪。跑腿说如果光辉不还钱，他们便会来找阿嬤，光辉苦恼不已。

Ah Zhen discovers the severity of Xin Yu's illness but Xiaohu sees it as an act from Xin Yu to gain attention and sympathy. Xiang Rong brings Xin Yu to a psychiatrist but Xin Yu runs away angrily. Xin Yu blames Xiang Rong for separating her family and started crying. She begs Xiang Rong to break up with Xiaohu.
