Zhang Qing Dong, a wealthy businessman, puts up an advertisement to hire "children" to help him with his business while giving them a luxurious life at the same time. He wants his lawyer, Jun Feng, to help him arrange an interview with surgeon He Jia Zheng, actor Lin Zi Jie and investment consultant Cheng Hui Shan. Jun Feng successfully gets the three of them to go for the interview by bribing Hui Shan's boyfriend, Tim ...

Qing Dong chooses Hui Shan, Zi Jie and Xin Ya to be his "children". The three of them then realise that Qing Dong is the big boss of Hua Hui Group. Hui Shan gets into a misunderstanding with Qing Dong's son. The three of them are baffled as to why Qing Dong wants to hire "children" when he has a son of his own. Little did they know that Li Xing and Qing Dong are in fact not related by blood.

Hui Shan doubts Qing Dong's motives and leaves out of anger. Jun Feng divulges that Hui Shan may stand a chance to inherit Qing Dong's business and hopes that she will not give up. Hui Shan returns to the Zhang family and Li Xing arranges for her to be in charge of Zi Yuan's operations and events. However, her first project turned out to planning the wedding of her ex-boyfriend, Tim and his fiancee, Peggy.

After Tim found out that Hui Shan is working at Zi Yuan, he decides to change the venue of his wedding. However, Jun Feng threatens Tim. Tim asks Jun Feng if he has any feud with Hui Shan to be picking on her this way. Jun Feng replies by saying that the game has just begun. Tim发现卉杉在紫园工作，决定取消在那里举行婚礼。俊风却以Tim的不利证据威胁他。Tim发现俊风似乎处处针对卉杉，问俊风跟卉杉之间到底有什么恩怨？俊风表示游戏才刚开始，却不愿透露详情。

Zi Jie is in debt after betting on soccer and is being hounded by Long Ge, his debtor. Zi Jie pretends to be kidnapped in order to demand a ransom of $20,000 from Qing Dong. Everyone feels that something fishy is going on but Qing Dong is worried about Zi Jie's safety and hence asks Jun Feng to bring the ransom over to save him. Jun Feng can tell that Zi Jie and Long Ge are putting on an act but does not expose them immediately.

Jun Feng plays badminton with Qing Dong. His actions lead Qing Dong to suspect that Jun Feng is his eldest son. Out of curiosity, Zi Jie enters the mysterious room. He sees that it is actually a boy's room. When Qing Dong realises, he scolds Zi Jie. Jun Feng and the rest enter the room too, Jun Feng is shocked upon seeing that Qing Dong had kept his things from when he was a kid.

Li Xing goes out with Xin Ya to get materials. While walking past a construction site, Li Xing hears a noise which makes his left ear hurt. The doctor states that Li Xing may be deaf on both years, and Li Xing is devastated. Xin Ya personally boils the medicine for Li Xing, and teaches him a few tricks for his ear. Li Xing starts to develop feelings for Xin Ya.

Qing Dong secretly peeks at Mei Lan from afar. It turns out that Qing Dong and Mei Lan met each other 25 years ago at a pub and the both of them got swept up in a romance. After that, Qing Dong believed rumours that the child Mei Lan is carrying may not be his and hurt Mei Lan. She left and gave birth to Zi Jie on her own. Qing Dong had the intention of bringing Mei Lan and Zi Jie back to stay with him, but Mei Lan refused.

Due to Jun Feng's sabotages, the truth behind "The Dream Job" is exposed. Hui Shan and Zi Jie are both revealed to be Qing Dong's biological children and they both leave. Qing Dong wants Jun Feng to get Hui Shan and Zi Jie back to his side after having such a hard time searching for them. Deep down, Jun Feng is unhappy but does not show it. 因为俊风的暗中破坏，"绝世好工"背后的真相被揭穿，卉杉和梓杰原来都是庆东的亲生儿女，两人相继离开。庆东好不容易找回来的孩子，再次离他而去，于是要俊风让卉杉和梓杰回到他身边。俊风心里不悦，表面上还是不动声色。

Bi Zhi decides to move back into the Zhang Family with Hui Shan. Hui Shan is unwilling to initially, but after much persuasion from Bi Zhi, she relents. Upon seeing the Zhang's mansion, Bi Zhi is overjoyed that she will be able to live in luxury in future. She picks on the rest of the people living there, bringing misery to Li Xing and Xin Ya. However, Li Xing is happy that Hui Shan is back to help out at Zi Yuan.

Hui Shan is happy when she finds out that Li Xing is not her biological brother. Bi Zhi tells her that Qing Dong only has 3 children of his own. His eldest son, Zhang Jun Feng's whereabouts are unknown, following that will be Hui Shan, which is why Hui Shan has the most right to take over the Zhang Family's business. Bi Zhi tells Hui Shan to grab this opportunity and perform well.

When Qing Dong and Xin Ya goes to visit Xin Ling, they bump into Jun Feng's grandmother. His grandmother recognises Qing Dong and lashes out at him. She collapses after being so agitated. Before she passes on, Jun Feng's grandmother tells him to take revenge on Qing Dong. Jun Feng wants Xin Ya to work with him. Xin Ya guessed that he may be Qing Dong's eldest son, Zhang Jun Feng.

Jun Feng admits his real identity and asks Xin Ya to keep it a secret. He talks about his revenge plan against Qing Dong and promises give half of the credit to her upon completion. Xin Ya in return will never have to worry about Xin Ling's hospital bills. Xin Ya is being pressured with money and she eventually agrees. Jun Feng wants Xin Ya to make use of Li Xing's feelings towards her to carry out the plan. Xin Ya feels conflicted.

Jun Feng wants Xin Ya to help him find out who Li Xing's biological mother is. Xin Ya tries to get the information from Qing Dong. Qing Dong is reminded of Zi Yun, and says that Li Xing is similar to his mother. Xin Ya asks Qing Dong about the number of women he had loved. Qing Dong says that he has only truly loved one woman, who is Jun Feng's mother, Zi Yun.

Tim and Hui Shan got back together. Tim thanks Jun Feng for successfully helping him win Hui Shan back and says that he truly likes Hui Shan. Little does he know that Jun Feng is only using him. Tim says that once he becomes the son-in-law of the Zhangs, he will not forget to give some benefits to Jun Feng. Jun Feng gives a small smile. Tim与卉杉复合，感激俊风为他穿针引线，让他成功虏获卉杉的芳心，并表示他真心喜欢卉杉，却不知俊风其实是在利用他。Tim表示等他当上张家的女婿，自然会给俊风好处。俊风听了阴沉一笑，思索着如何利用Tim来打击卉杉。

Li Xing finds out about Jun Feng's birth mark on his right foot and recalls seeing his older brother, Jun Feng, having the same birth mark as kids. He informs Qing Dong of this. Qing Dong recalls that while he was playing badminton with Jun Feng, the latter did exhibit similar habits to Qing Dong's eldest son. He suspects Jun Feng's real identity and tries to sound him out.

Xin Ya finds herself falling for Jun Feng but buries her feelings. Jun Feng reports to Qing Dong that Tim made use of Hui Shan to obtain a secret file. The words that Tim said were all under the instruction of Jun Feng but yet the latter pushes the blame away. Jun Feng publicly played a secret recording of a conversation with Tim. Tim tries to explain himself but to no avail. Once again, Hui Shan's career and love life takes a hit.

A DNA test confirms that Li Xing is not Qing Dong's biological son. Jun Feng and Xin Ya are shocked. Xin Ya recounts that she had stumbled across a photo of Li Xing and another man in Qing Dong's room. To uncover the truth, Jun Feng begins investigating the mysterious man in the photograph. 俊风和欣雅透过DNA报告得知立行不是庆东的亲生孩子，深感惊讶。欣雅告诉俊风，她在庆东房间发现一张立行小时候与一个陌生男人的合照。为了查出真相，俊风开始调查照片中神秘男子的身份。

Tim wants to meet Hui Shan but the latter rejects. Out of desperation, he kidnaps Hui Shan into the car. Tim explains that he had fallen into Jun Feng's trap. He warns Hui Shan to be careful of Jun Feng and Xin Ya, as the two are working together. Hui Shan begins to notice that Jun Feng and Xin Ya's relationship does not seem as simple. Tim要求见卉杉一面，卉杉拒绝，他在情急之下挟持了卉杉上车，一路躲避警察。Tim说他中了俊风的计，指俊风和欣雅串通，两人关系很不简单，叫卉杉不能相信他们。卉杉开始从蛛丝马迹中发现欣雅和俊风似乎有不可告人的关系。

Li Xing intends to fulfil Qing Dong's wish by proposing to Xin Ya. Hui Shan is unable to keep it in anymore, and exposes the fact that Xin Ya does not love Li Xing, and is overly intimate with Jun Feng. Xin Ya rejects his proposal and breaks up with him. Li Xing asks if it's true that Xin Ya likes Jun Feng. Xin Ya tries to cover it up by replying that it has nothing to do with Jun Feng. She asks Li Xing to forget about her.

Qing Dong asks Jun Feng and Yi Qing to accompany him to the aquarium. He wants to make up for the guilt of not being able to bring his son here back then. Jun Feng suspects that Qing Dong has already found out about his real identity, but is puzzled why Qing Dong has not acknowledged him. Yi Qing feels that Qing Dong's love to his eldest son is true. Jun Feng wanted to reveal his real identity to Yi Qing, but is unable to.

Jun Feng backs out of his marriage plans because of Xin Ya, hurting Yi Qing. Jun Feng professes his love to Xin Ya, saying that he has completely let go of the hatred. He asks Xin Ya if she is willing to spend the rest of her life with him. Xin Ya is touched, and agrees. 俊风为了欣雅而悔婚，令依晴大受打击。俊风向欣雅示爱，说他已经完全放下仇恨，只想跟心爱的人过宁静简单的生活，问欣雅愿不愿意跟他共度一生。欣雅感动，含泪点头。

Qing Dong cooks up a plan to trap Li Xing and Hui Shan in a forest. Love finally blossoms between the both of them. Li Xing's father, Ming De, returns to Singapore to acknowledge him, taking out a photograph as proof that he is Li Xing's father. He also proposes a DNA test. Li Xing asks about who his biological mother is, Ming De reveals that it was Zi Yun.

Ming De distorts the truth by saying that Zi Yu had an affair with him because Qing Dong was neglecting her. Li Xing does not know if he should believe Ming De or not. Qing Dong asks Ming De out. Ming De purposely agitates Qing Dong, causing the latter to turn violent. Li Xing misunderstands and think that Qing Dong is trying to get rid of Ming De. Li Xing and Ming De finally reunites...
