The bustling Hua Xiang Street is home to a few families. The celebrity wannabe Zhao Ming Xing is desperate to meet movie star Li Ling Hua. He drags along friends Zi Bin, Yi Duo, Rou Rou to get tickets, but end up in an altercation with the ticket touts. Zi Bin's father manages to give Li Ling Hua a ride, and boasts of it after. 热闹的花香街大杂院里，住着好几户人家。追求明星梦的赵明星因为大明星李玲华前来随片登台，拉了好友子斌、一多、柔柔一起去买票，结果与黄牛党发生冲突，一时鸡飞狗跳。子斌的父亲Roti叔还因此载到大明星，向众人炫耀一番。

Episode 2: Cai Fa returns from a business trip in Malaysia, and quietly passes a English book to Xian Ya. Xian Ya accepts the book, but realizes after that it is pornographic. She hurriedly returns it to Cai Fa, wanting him to trash it.

Episode 3: The movie makers are casting new actors, and Ming Xing, Rou Rou and Lian Jing go for the auditions. Rou Rou is selected, and is offered a contract by the filmmakers.

Episode 4: Yi Duo asks for money from Yin Jiao for his birthday, intending to take Rou Rou out to the Great World theme park. Rou Rou invites Yong Yong, Ming Xing and Zi Bin, and Yi Duo resignedly pays for them.

Episode 5: Yi Duo asks Rou Rou out again, but her colleague Bao Zhu sabotages her, after knowing Yi Duo's background. She goes on Rou Rou's behalf, on the pretense that Rou Rou needs to work overtime.

Episode 6: Yi Duo and Rou Rou bump into Yin Jiao, and he immediately releases her hand. This upsets Rou Rou. Yin Jiao is suspicious, but Zi Bin jumps in to explain that he is the one dating Rou Rou.

Episode 7: Lian Jing is secretly in love with Ming Xing, and snoops around his film set of a Malay movie. His original character gets cancelled, and ends up as an extra who gets beaten up. She jumps in to stop them from beating him up.

Episode 8: Yin Jiao is unhappy with Rou Rou seducing Yi Duo and Mei Mei's bullying of San Duo. She demands the Han family move out. Jian Ren recalls the suspicious scene between Cai Fa and Xian Ya. He threatens Cai Fa, who falls into the trap.

Episode 9: Da Gou permits Ming Xing to go to Japan, but wants him to pay for the travel and school fees himself. Ming Xing knows that it is a sizeable sum, but decides not to give up.

Episode 10: The whole Hua Xiang Street gets together to hold a charity fair to raise funds for Ming Xing's trip. Although the fundraiser is successful, they are short of one hundred dollars.

Episode 11: Ming Xing leaves with no word. Yong Yong sees Da Gou coughing away, and brews cooling tea for him. Da Gou wishes Ming Xing was half as sensible as Yong Yong.

Episode 12: Yong Yong makes Rou Rou a new dress for a record company audition. A jealous Bao Zhu deliberately dirties her dress. Fortunately, Yong Yong mends it in time and Yong Yong auditions successfully.

Episode 13: Yi Duo is depressed about Rou Rou and drinks his sorrows. Yin Jiao tells him off. He answers back and rides his bicycle off in a huff. He falls off a slope accidentally.

Episode 14: Yong Yong begins to seek out her biological mother, and finds the midwife Luan Jie. She gets involved with conwoman Lian Jie instead. Yong Yong finds out that Lian Jie had sold off her daughter, and thinks that she is her mother.

Episode 15: Yong Yong goes to Japan Street to visit Lian Jie, but bumps into Ming Xing. It turns out that Ming Xing missed Da Gou too much, and never left. Embarrassed, he thought to pick up Japanese in Japan Street before heading back prematurely.

Episode 16: Rou Rou signs a contract with Peterson's record company, and they celebrate with alcohol. Rou Rou gets drunk, but gets violated by Peterson. Furious, she tells Peterson off.

Episode 17: Lian Jie and Gui Li Qiang conspire to cheat Yong Yong of her money. Lian Jie feels guilty, and confesses to a shocked Yong Yong that she is not her biological mother.

Episode 18: Rou Rou is pregnant, and wants to abort the baby. Yong Yong persuades her to accept Peterson, a successful man who is truly in love with her. She agrees. Peterson sends gifts to Jian Ren and asks for Rou Rou's hand.

Episode 19: Ming Xing persuades Yi Duo to get Rou Rou back, and tells him she is getting married, possibly against her will. Yi Duo mans up and asks for her hand from Dai Yu, who chases him out. Rou Rou tells him that she is a willing party.

Episode 20: Cai Fa buys a big longevity bun for Yin Jiao as a birthday present. Perturbed that it is not a brooch, Yin Jiao thinks the brooch is hidden as a surprise gift inside the bun. She fails to find anything after chewing through the bun.

Episode 21: Yong Yong is sick. Yi Duo brings her to the doctor's but bumps into Yin Jiao. She can tell that he is concerned for her. Yi Duo confesses his fondness to Yin Jiao, and hopes that she does not object.

Episode 22: Peterson cancels the wedding suddenly, leaving a devastated Rou Rou. She tries to get an abortion, but is told the foetus has grown too big. An abortion would kill her.

Episode 23: Yi Duo and Yong Yong visit Yin Jiao, who miraculously awakes but with amnesia. She imagines herself as Wang Bao Chuan, a historical figure, and her words are like opera dialogue.

Episode 24: Yin Jiao regains her memory, and remembers that Yong Yong is her daughter. She seeks her out only to find out she has gone to Malaysia. Cai Fa confesses to Yi Duo that Yong Yong is his twin sister, and forbids them from being together.
