Lion Mums
We meet the Lion Moms - three very different mothers who share the same goal of giving their children the best. Jennifer Lee is the perfect stay at home Mom. Durrani is the power hungry career woman and Min Yi is the single mother who gives all she’s got. Best friends, the three women help each other through the numerous obstacles they face as mothers. Issues that all Singaporean mothers can identify with, such as - tuition, work life balance and stressed out children - will be addressed throughout the series. In this episode, Jennifer plans to throw the best birthday party ever, but it all badly backfires. How will her friends help save the day?

“LION MUMS SEASON TWO” is a cosmo-drama series that centers around the lives of four quintessential Singaporean mothers, Jennifer Tan (played by TVB actress Bernice Liu), Durrani Mazlan (played by Nurul Aini), Chae Lian (played by Lina Ng) and Ho Min Yi (played by Vanessa Vanderstraaten). In Season One, our Lion Mums had to navigate the minefield of primary school admission, amidst challenging personal life circumstances. Season Two finds our intrepid Lion Mums confronting the challenge of Singapore’s highly competitive education head-on as their offspring begin their first year of primary education at the fictional elite school, Charleston Primary.The show will explore hot button and highly relatable topics that seem to have been ripped from the headlines. Our Lion Mums will have to deal with Enrichment Programs, gaming the Direct Schools Admission system, homework tutors, elitism in the education system, bullying and of course, the perennial pressures of competitive parenting. All this unfolds amidst their own personal challenges - Jennifer finds herself going back to work as her husband is bankrupted, Durrani starts her own business after leaving her comfortable law firm job and Min Yi must confront discrimination at the workplace that stems from her lack of a degree. Upping the ante is Chae Lian, the ultimate super mum of the poster boy & girl of Charleston Primary, who is the know-it-all and game-it-all of our local educational system.

Conflict arises between Min Yi and Kai’s biological father, Marcus (played by Joshua Tan) when Kai’s P1 teacher suggests that he may be a gifted child. Marcus and Kai’s grandmother, Emmy (played by Sue Tan) push for Kai to be transferred to Charleston Primary where his gifted qualities can be better supported and cultivated.

HFMD hits Charleston and our Lion mums (and Lion Dads) are sent into a tizzy over how best to protect their offspring from the illness. With Jennifer out of town on a buying trip for her clients, Richard is left to care for Ada, who is determined to catch HFMD, or at least, stay away from school.
