An explosion occurs at a chemical plant, Rota Commander Jun Yi leads his team to the site to conduct firefighting and rescue operations. Jun Yi takes his job seriously, has a sense of humour and is well-liked by all except for Jayden. It seems they were once great pals who fell for the same girl Lynn, who in the end chose Jayden. Unfortunately, Lynn died in a fire and Jayden blamed Jun Yi…

Lao Cai fries some food but forgets about it because of dementia and goes on to take a shower, this negligence leads to a fire. Jun Yi and the rest arrive at Lao Cai's house to put out the fire and rescue Lao Cai from the window using the CPL. In the process, Jayden nearly gets pulled down by Lao Cai but is fortunately saved by Jun Yi's quick reaction, they manage to stay safe.

Shu Min and Xuan Wen goes out to eat and invites Jun Yi along. While they are eating, a lady Irene chokes on her food, everyone tries to save her. Irene wants to go to the hospital but after a check by the paramedics, her condition is assessed to be a non-emergency that should not use the 995 service. Irene is furious and threatens to complain about them.

Jayden and Jun Yi's relationship is strained; Xuan Wen notices this and expresses her concern, Jun Yi opens up to her. While exercising, Cai Shun suddenly suffers a cardiac arrest and falls to the ground. Xiu Mei hurriedly calls Jayden but he is on his way to save someone. Xiu Mei asks Jayden to come over quickly to save Cai Shun, Jayden is in a fix!

Shu Min is cycling and realises that there is someone nearby who needs help, she takes the AED to the scene and saves Cai Shun, she even comforts Xiu Mei. Jayden rushes to the hospital to see his dad who is fortunately okay. Xiu Mei mentions about Cai Shun’s saviour and praises her for being calm. Jayden does not realise that it’s Shu Min who saved his dad, he is grateful and curious about her.

Jayden gets a call from Xiu Mei, he finds out that she and another lady Irene had fallen into the canal. Jayden saves Xiu Mei before Irene. When Irene realises that Jayden is a firefighter, she scolds him for being unprofessional by saving his mother first, she threatens to file a complaint. Irene leaves nasty remarks about Jayden online. Not long after, Irene suddenly dies from a heart attack.

Jayden arrives at Irene's funeral wake but is chased away by her daughter. Jayden blames himself and Shu Min comforts him. At this moment, there is a loud scream, a girl is precariously hanging on the window ledge, about to fall. Jayden and Shu Min scurry around for a cloth to rescue the girl. Irene's daughter sees Jayden doing this rescue and forgives him.

Mei Qi sees her son Ben pouring away the wine and furiously scolds him, Ben tells her that he does not want to see her sad. Ben's thoughtfulness makes Jun Yi and Mei Qi feel heart ache. Mei Qi realises that she has neglected Ben and feels guilty, she reveals that she turned to drinking as her marriage failed and she got retrenched. Jun Yi decides to move over to take care of them.

Xiao Li tells Jayden the truth, admitting she told lies. In order to save her, Lynn put herself in greater danger, asking Jun Yi to save Xiao Li first. Xiao Li admits that Lynn sacrificed the chance to escape for her, making her very guilty and unable to face the truth.
