Cahaya Lebaran tells the story of 10-year old Budiman who dislikes Malay language. One day, Budiman falls asleep after a bedtime story and goes on a journey in his dreams with his grandparents, back to their kampung. There, he meets with Pak Pandir, Lebai Malang and Mat Jenin whilst discovering many attributes of the Malay kampung culture. He is overwhelmed by the joyous celebration of Ramadan and Aidilfitri.
