Karmila, Devi and Thesa are an exception in Indonesia. Their job as female motorcycle stunt riders is to perform in the 'Devil's Barrel', riding their bikes on the vertical walls of a two-storey tall cylinder. They move from village to village in traveling funfairs, accompanied by their fellow male riders. While critics accuse them of not being 'good women' for working in the male-dominated carnival world, others applaud them for breaking stereotypes in the increasingly conservative Muslim majority country.
